Art has always played a role in Jennifer’s life. In the past, she has worked with oils, watercolour, coloured pencils and gouache. Everything that she has learned throughout her journey in art, has informed her new passion, printmaking.
Her first experience with printmaking was at Sturt Workshop at Mittagong. Since then, she has experimented with printmaking of different types - collagraphs, linocuts, drypoints, photo polymer/aluminum/zinc plate etchings. Jennifer loves working with multicultural themes- Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Turkish and Balinese.
She is fond of exploring nature and using charcoal and printmaking techniques to create artworks.
Alongside Jennifer’s career in teaching, she has always nurtured a strong link with art, illustrating educational resources. She has exhibited and sold her work in various art shows and competitions (the Gosford Art Prize, Blacktown, Ryde and Hornsby ) and in galleries in and outside Sydney. Within the past several years, she has received recognition in the Ku-Ring-Gai, Hornsby, National Miniatures Art Society, Ryde, Lane Cove and Drummoyne awards. She has participated in exhibitions in Tasmania, Queensland, London, Moscow, Sth Africa, Japan and Washington State.
