According to Julia Cameron in her book “The Artist’s Way”, to discover or recover your creative self, can be a life changing experience. This describes what happened with me. My creativity was languishing and its absence was affecting me, body and soul.

One of Julia Cameron's quotes that takes pride of place in my studio:

"No matter what your age, or your life path, whether making art is your career or your hobby or your dream, it is not too late or too egotistical or too selfish or too silly to work on your creativity. Your creativity is like your blood. Just as blood is a fact of your physical body and nothing you invented, creativity is a fact of your spiritual body and nothing that you must invent. To live a creative life we must lose our fear of being wrong".

I came back to art late and this is a poignant quote that reverberated through me. The author goes on to talk about not allowing your emotional and intellectual life to stagnate as your work, your life and your temperament will show it. I certainly could not ignore the artist within. I have recognised it. I have nurtured it. I have respected it. I work on it every day in some way and I am better for it.

Printmaking is my special passion. I hope you enjoy my creations.
